No animal testing and no animal ingredients – that’s always been Beauty Without Cruelty’s mission. I love it when I find a company like that. When Beauty Without Cruelty was founded in England in 1963, by Kathleen Long and Lady Dowding, animal testing was commonplace.
Kathleen Long was a strong animal welfare activist who, together with Noel Gabriel, developed the very first complete line of cruelty-free color makeup. Kathleen passed away in 1969, and the company was on the verge of closing, but Lady Dowding kept it going. She finally appointed a man named Joseph Piccioni to manage the company, and Beauty Without Cruelty grew into a very popular brand.
Beauty Without Cruelty made it’s debut in the U.S. in 1989. It is a Leaping Bunny certified brand and has a full line of makeup, body, and haircare products.
Today, I’m sharing a roundup of Beauty Without Cruelty makeup favorites.
Beauty Without Cruelty Paraben-Free Mascara – This mascara is a full-volume vegan mascara that is gentle and fragrance-free, so it’s ideal for contact lens wearers like me. The double depth brush allows for maximum length and thickness, and you can easily apply 2 coats without clumping.
Natural Infusion Moisturizing Lipstick – Provides rich, creamy color with a soft feel on lips.
Ultimate Natural Soft Kohl Eye Pencil – Great for sensitive eyes. This eye pencil glides on with smoothness and ease and provides long lasting definition to make your eyes stand out.
Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Black – Another great liner for sensitive eyes, but this one is perfect for getting you those sought-after cat eyes. You can create a professional-looking intense drama look with this eye pencil that glides on with comfort and ease – no pulling or tugging.
Ultimate Natural Liquid Foundation – This foundation is fragrance free and moisture-balancing. It has a creamy texture. In my opinion, the coverage is more sheer than I’d like but keep in mind that I am used to full-coverage foundations.
Ultrafine Loose Powder – This ultra-fine powder sets your makeup and controls shine for hours. It’s a non-caking loose powder that feels light, helps minimize imperfections, and gives you a natural, finished look.
Eye Makeup Remover – This is a botanical formula that won’t leave an oily feeling residue on your skin. It is extremely gentle and ph balanced, yet is removes even water-resistant makeup easily.
Angled Blusher Brush – I love the angled design. This design helps you apply color in the direction of your cheekbone and the brush doesn’t get “smashed” down over time. When you try to apply cheek color with a uniformly shaped brush, you end up trying to angle it to get the color in just the area and it causes you to put pressure on the bristles of your brush. Over time, this causes the bristles to be smashed and misshapen. This angled brush is the perfect solution!
